LET'S

RETHINK

RENEWABLES

We are a network of concerned Australians united against the Government reckless rollout of industrialised renewables on regional and rural communities.

In desperation to meet Labor’s renewables targets, regional communities are being steamrolled. Throughout Australia about  126 community action groups are actively resisting industrial wind, solar and transmission projects in their communities.

The rollout has been rushed and lacks in genuine community consultation. The environmental and social impacts are significant, with the government not considering the environmental repercussions and overlooking the impacts on families and rural communities.

Act now, join us today and Let's Rethink Renewables!

THE PROBLEM

Let's Rethink Renewables wants a rethink of the Government's determination to transition to a renewable energy dominated electrical grid. The transition has been forced and lacks in genuine community consultation. Furthermore, the environmental and social impacts are proving to be significant. It is clear that the Government has not completely considered the environmental repercussions of renewables and has ignored the impacts that this reckless rollout has on families and rural communities.

People across rural and regional Australia are crying out for fairness and transparency whilst Government energy corporations continue to be dismissive of their concerns, essentially abandoning our communities in their relentless rush to a renewable energy future.

Our strong communities, the region's beautiful scenic landscapes, our productive farmlands and precious wildlife habitats are being destroyed before our eyes. These pillars of rural and regional Australia are unrenewable. Once they’re gone they are gone for good.

The people of rural and regional Australia have not given social licence to any wind or solar project, to any transmission towers or any battery energy system.

Let's Rethink Renewables is determined to protect the FIVE PILLARS of rural and regional Australia against this reckless rollout of renewables.

Our Communities

Our once strong communities are being fractured and divided, with increased depression, anxiety, guilt and suspicion spreading amongst locals. Worse still, many feel unrepresented by Government and ignored by the rest of Australia.

LRR-Wildlife-Habitat-WEB.jpg

Our Wildlife Habitats

Our precious, pristine wildlife habitats are being destroyed. The construction of renewable energy projects is killing many rare and threatened native plants and animals. Destroying our critical habitat for renewables makes no sense.

LRR-Productive Farmlands-WEB.jpg

Our Productive Farmlands

Carpeting our productive farmlands with a sea of industrial renewables threatens Australia’s food security and destabilises our agricultural systems. Our agricultural land is unrenewable once it is bulldozed for renewables and high voltage transmission lines.

LRR-Rural-Landscapes-WEB.jpg

Our Rural Landscape

Our spectacular, natural rural landscapes are being replaced by a sea of solar panels and a web of wind turbines. Worse still, large-scale transmission lines are crisscrossing our landscapes to link these renewables to the grid.

Our Way of Life

The accumulative impacts caused by the industrialisation of our beautiful regions with renewable projects is ruining the way of life for people in our rural and regional communities. They feel underrepresented, helpless and without hope.

THE SOLUTION

Act!

The most effective way to make a difference is to get involved. Too many people sit back and wait for others to do something.  But YOU are part of the solution. The more people that are involved, the better our chance to prevent further damage to our economy, environment and our 5 pillars. Renewables projects are forging ahead, so there is no time to waste - ACT NOW!
