LET'S

We are a collection of concerned Australians united against the Government rollout of industrialised renewables on regional and rural communities.

In desperation to meet Labor’s renewables targets, regional communities are being steamrolled. Throughout Australia about  126 community action groups are actively resisting industrial wind, solar and transmission projects in their communities.

It has been rushed and lacking in genuine community consultation. The environmental and social impacts are significant, with the government not fully considered the environmental repercussions and overlooking the impacts on families and rural communities.

Act now and join us today, Let's Rethink Renewables.

THE PROBLEM

We are critical of the government's handling of the transition to clean energy. It has been rushed and lacking in genuine community consultation. The environmental and social impacts are significant, with the government not fully considered the environmental repercussions and overlooking the impacts on families and rural communities.

The people of the Gympie and greater Wide bay region are crying out for fairness and transparency whilst Queensland government corporations like Queensland Hydro and Powerlink continue to be dismissive of our concerns, leaving our communities behind in their rush to a renewable energy future.

Our strong communities, the regions’ beautiful scenic landscapes, our productive farmlands and precious wildlife habitats are being destroyed before our eyes. These pillars of rural and regional Queensland are unrenewable. Once there’re gone they are gone for good.

The people of the Gympie Region have not given social licence to any wind or solar factory, to any transmission towers or battery energy system and especially not to the proposed Borumba Dam pumped Hydro system. They have no social licence from us however they have granted themselves and altogether different kind of licence.

A licence to destroy our FIVE PILLARS of rural Queensland!

Our Communities

  • Fracture and divide our once strong communities whilst Increase depression, anxiety, guilt and suspicion amongst our communities.

LRR-Wildlife-Habitat-WEB.jpg

Our Wildlife Habitats

  • Destroy our precious pristine wildlife habitats and killing many rare and threaten native plants and animals. Destroying critical habitat for renewables makes no sense.

LRR-Productive Farmlands-WEB.jpg

Our Productive Farmlands

  • Covering our productive farmlands with and endless sea of industrial renewables threatens our nation’s food security and destabilises our agricultural systems.

LRR-Rural-Landscapes-WEB.jpg

Our Rural Landscape

  • Replacing our spectacular rural views and vistas with a sea of solar panels across our landscapes and spearing wind turbines along our mountain rages all linked by a cobweb of industrialised scaled transmission lines.

Our Way of Life

  • Ruining our way of life through the accumulative impacts caused by the industrialisation of our beautiful region with renewable energy developments.
